Taught by Eloise McFarlane, the class will focus largely on contemporary and modern, with the potential to expand into other styles from there, including hip-hop and jazz. Students will learn and develop short combinations as well as build skills to improvise and make up their own choreography.
A West Coast native, Eloise McFarlane has been dancing since the age of two. She began her training at Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle, WA, where she gained a classical foundation, and continued studying ballet at the Eugene Ballet Academy, Oregon Ballet Academy, and Flex Studios, all based in Eugene, Oregon. Eventually, she began to shift her focus to modern, contemporary, and hip-hop styles, and was a member of Flex Studios’ competitive team for three years, participating in competitions throughout Oregon and Washington. |

Here’s a chance to step away from the usual day-to-day activities and retreat to an experience of slow, steady and quiet movements. Listening, breathing, following...increasing balance, coordination, flexibility and resilience, reclaiming a sense of wholeness and ease.
Each class begins with warm-up exercises followed by form practices. The curriculum focuses on the Eight Pieces of Brocade Qigong and postures from Yang Style Taiji Quan. Each class ends with standing or sitting meditation.
No experience is necessary, only the key ingredients of curiosity and a willingness to try this unique method of exercise and approach to health and wellbeing

Classical ballet technique in traditional ballet class structure. It is open to any adult who wants to experience ballet technique, prior ballet experience is not necessary but helpful. No pointe shoes, please. Wear comfortable exercise clothing and socks or ballet attire. This is a class for exercise, beautiful music and enjoyment.
Barbara Doyle-Wilch has been teaching ballet classes, among other genres of dance, for over 40 years. She studied in Chicago with Stone Cameron Ballet and majored in dance at the Jordon College of Music at Butler University in Indiana, earning a BA and MA in dance.

Come perform a play of this quintessential Dr. Suess story! You know it as a picture book, but this theatrical adaptation has all the same charm while also providing an opportunity to embody these beloved characters.
The class will culminate with a performance on Nov. 20th at 5pm!
This class is taught by Associate Director of the Center for Learning and Engagement, Keziah Wilde. Keziah is a Middlebury College graduate with a degree in Film and Media Culture. Most of her stage experience comes from comedy- both sketch comedy and standup which she performs around Burlington and Montpelier. |

In these classes, Master Kellie Thomas (7th Degree Black Belt) will adapt the workouts and techniques to everyone’s needs and abilities focusing on self-defense skills. Come learn a traditional martial art, get healthy, learn self-defense and most importantly HAVE FUN!!! Master Thomas is 55 years old and has had 3 hip replacements, 1 knee replacement and has osteoarthritis & fibromyalgia – so she completely understands the need to adapt moves and has created a whole new warm-up, stretches, etc. that can be done using and/or sitting in a chair. |

This class will explore basic camera techniques, text work, building a scene, an audition, what to wear, how to prepare, and how to enjoy it all. Discover how to bring songs to life in this dynamic workshop for performers ages 11-17. In Acting Through Song, students will learn how to connect emotionally to lyrics, enhance their storytelling, and deliver captivating performances. Each singer will work on one solo piece, receiving individual coaching to refine their vocal technique and acting skills.
The session culminates in a cabaret performance for family and friends on the final Saturday. Whether they’re new to musical theater or looking to deepen their craft, this intensive is the perfect place to grow and perform!
This class will be led by Vanessa Dunleavy, a local 500 hour certified yoga instructor, dancer, and singer, with a passion for stroytelling and the arts.

Creative Dance Ballet Blend
In this class children will discover the joy of expressing themselves physically through dance. They will also have fun creating their own movements and learning a dance. They will develop proper body alignment, balance, flexibility and musicality through learning ballet basics. At the end of the session there will be an informal studio presentation.
This class is taught by Evelyne Germain who trained at Boston Conservatory of Music, Ballets Jazz Montreal,Theatre Ballet of Canada (apprentice) and with Shelley Ismail among others. She loves working with children and believes exposing young dance students to ballet technique as well as creative dance gives them a balanced and solid foundation to move with freedom and strength. She holds a B.S. in Education

Part history class, part film festival, Doug Anderson takes you through the glorious history of the Hollywood musical.
Each session will begin with Doug lecturing about the studios, the directors and the stars who defined each era, followed by one of the key films of those years, shown the way they were meant to be seen, on the big screen in the THT Rothrock Mainstage.
The 4-session Fall course will explore the early years, when Hollywood searched for ways to transfer the success of Broadway musicals into film, only to realize that film – and especially the moving camera – opened up entirely new possibilities for the musical.
FALL 2025: THE EARLY YEARS 1930-1952
October 27: THE GOLD DIGGERS OF 1933 (1933)
This early “backstage musical” features Joan Blondell, Ruby Keeler and the astounding staging and camera work of Busby Berkeley, who reinvented the movie musical in the 1930s with 6 major films for Warner Brothers.
November 3: TOP HAT (1935)
The classic pairing of Fred Astair and Ginger Rodgers, who eventually made 9 films together for RKO. Music and lyrics by the incomparable Irving Berlin.
November 17: SHOWBOAT (1936)
One of the most successful transfers from Broadway to the big screen, starring Helen Morgan and Paul Robeson, with an unforgettable score by George and Ira Gershwin.
November 24: SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN (1952)
Perhaps the most thoroughly delightful film ever made, it frequently turns up on lists of The 10 Greatest American Movies. With Gene Kelly, Donald O’Connor and Debbie Reynolds.

Intro to Pole
Learn the basics of pole dance technique, safety, and strength in this 4-week course for beginners. The course will cover beginner-level holds, spins, and moves both on and off the pole.
Participants should bring: water, a yoga mat or towel, and a small washtowel/rag to wipe down your pole. Please wear comfortable athletic clothing that can be adjusted to expose skin from the knees and elbows down. No body lotions or jewelry, please.
HaQuyen Pham tried her first pole class in 2019 and was immediately hooked. As someone trained in both dance and weightlifting, she loves the combination of strength and movement in pole, in addition to the wide range of styles, abilities, and bodies that are showcased in the pole community.
