Join the experience. Come enjoy an afternoon tea party with tea and pastries while committing 2-hours to learn the basics in pointed pen modern calligraphy. This class is designed to be shared with family and friends. Garden tea party attire encouraged but not required.
IN-PERSON INTRO TO MODERN CALLIGRAPHY WORKSHOP
In this workshop you’ll be learning an introduction to MODERN CALLIGRAPHY with pointed pen and ink with 2 hours of instruction and live demonstration. You will be able to practice live with your instructor, Amanda Reid, and be able to ask questions for feedback. We will cover the basics and get you ready to add unique lettered details to all of life’s special occasions. Modern Calligraphy is the perfect special touch to your snail mail, wedding details, custom quotes, gifts and more!
In this class you will learn about:
-The tools you need to get started with modern calligraphy
-How to hold your calligraphy pen
-Basic strokes for modern calligraphy
-Modern Calligraphy alphabet
-Learn how to connect letters to make words
-Practice quote for final project

Amanda Reid is a modern calligrapher, workshop instructor and Doctor of Physical Therapy. She is the owner of Amanda Reid Designs, a modern calligraphy studio based in Austin, TX that specializes in providing calligraphy and engraving services for events and brands. Amanda also shares her passion for calligraphy with others by hosting fun, interactive workshops to teach aspiring letterers how to use brush pens and/or dip pen and ink.
