AN ACTOR'S TOOLKIT SESSION 2: COLD READINGS WORKSHOP

Saturday September 12, 2026 - 1pm - 4pm

The subject of this workshop is that most terrifying theatrical experience: the cold reading. We will work on techniques that will help you organize and focus your reading, so that you feel comfortable when a director hands you a script you've never seen before and asks you to perform it.

Bob Miller Before moving to New York in 1991, Bob worked as a director in regional theaters for 20 years, including 10 years as Staff Director of Sarasota's Asolo Repertory Theater and Artistic Director of the Asolo Touring Theater. Main stage productions include Our Town, Pump Boys and Dinettes, How the Other Half Loves, and Deathtrap. His touring productions were performed throughout the East Coast, with residencies at the Brooklyn Academy of Music and the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.

More recently, Bob has guest directed for many theaters and colleges in the Hudson Valley, including Shadowland Stages, Queen City Stage, SUNY New Paltz, Mount St. Mary's, and Marist University.

In 1994, he and Christine Crawfis founded Mohonk Mountain Stage Company, which toured professional productions for K-3 audiences in the Northeast. He also directed dozens of readings of classic and modern plays and literature for MMSC's Readers Theater Group.

He's very happy to be working with the highly regarded County Players.
