Join us for a two-hour workshop where actors of all levels will participate in sharpening their musical theatre audition skills for community theatre musical productions.
The workshop will consist of:
- A discussion of the process. Skills needed to successfully audition for musical theatre.
- An overview of general requirements for auditions and details specific to musicals.
- The Callback process: preparation of musical selections and scene work that is required for those secondary auditions.
The workshop will focus on the choice, preparation and presentation of musical selections and character development specific to the role you are seeking. Each participant should come prepared with two different musical selections to sing. (16 to 32 bars in length) In addition, a dance warm-up, and a short discussion of tips for dance auditions, as well as a dance combination from a modern musical will be taught. Modifications will be provided for all skill levels, so that dancers can participate in a meaningful way.
