Company: Ballet Theatre of Maryland
This level is for ages 8-10 and students should register for both Classical Ballet 2 classes so that they are taking twice weekly. This class is the beginning of formalized classical ballet. Class focuses include learning the sequence of working at the barre, a continuation of learning steps in the center, and stretching exercises. Musicality, coordination, and movement dynamics are concentrated on to help the dancer create a strong foundation for dance. No class 10/3, 10/24, 11/28
The attire for all classes, except where otherwise noted, is as follows Girls: Black leotard, pink or flesh-colored- tights, and corresponding pink or nude ballet slippers. No jewelry. Hair should be neatly pulled back out off of the face and neck. Boys: White t-shirt, black tights, and white or black ballet slippers.
