Ages 9-10. (RAD Grade 3) If a student is new to our program, please contact us prior to registration to discuss placement. A natural progression from Classical Ballet 2 with greater emphasis on complex exercises in terms of coordination, strength, and musicality. A complete barre, port de bras, adage and allegro are now included, as well as the continued work in Character and Free Movement. Students will take two Classical Ballet 3 sessions per week. Class progresses from the Fall into Winter/Spring.
The Winter/Spring session provides two additional opportunities: students could be invited to participate in our Royal Academy of Dance Exams mid-spring, and the guaranteed ability to perform in our Annual Spring Recital in May. Examinations and Recital participation will require additional fees.
Dress Code: Girls: Royal Academy of Dance Aimee leotard in Mulberry, pink or skin tone-matched tights, Bloch full sole ballet shoes and Freed canvas low or cuban heel character shoes. Boys: White t-shirt, navy or black shorts, white socks, white Bloch full sole ballet shoes, and black lace up character shoes. Girl’s Leotards available through our studio, and all other items available at Dance Supplies, Etc in Severna Park (410- 647-8727).
Girls will be fitted for character skirts during the first week of classes which will be borrowed or purchased depending on availability.
