(RAD Grade 7) If a student is new to our program, please contact us prior to registration to discuss placement. Considered a part of the RAD’s “Higher Grade Syllabus”, this level is highly choreographed, stressing the performance aspect of ballet on stage. Character work and Free Movement is greatly expanded. Four to five years of previous ballet training necessary. Students are required to take three classes a week, at a minimum. Pointe work will be included within the class structure. Class progresses from the Fall into Winter/Spring. If a student is new to our program, please contact us prior to registration to discuss placement.
The Winter/Spring session provides two additional opportunities: students could be invited to participate in our Royal Academy of Dance Exams mid-spring, and the guaranteed ability to perform in our Annual Spring Recital in May. Examinations and Recital participation will require additional fees.
Girls: Royal Academy of Dance Alice leotard in Purple, pink or skin tone-matched tights, leather or canvas ballet shoes and Freed canvas cuban heel character shoes. Boys: White t-shirt, navy or black shorts, white socks, white Bloch full sole ballet shoes, and black lace up character shoes. Girl’s Leotards available through our studio, and all other items available at Dance Supplies, Etc in Severna Park (410- 647-8727).
Girls will be fitted for character skirts during the first week of classes which will be borrowed or purchased depending on availability.
