Ages 6-7. If a student is new to our program, please contact us prior to registration to discuss placement. This class follows the second level of the Royal Academy of Dance beginning ballet syllabus work for the young child, Primary. This class progresses nicely from the fun filled structure of our Pre-Ballet 3 (RAD Pre-Primary), and promotes more independence in knowledge of ballet terminology and classwork. Increased strengthening of posture, legs, and feet is a focus, with musicality and storytelling remaining a core lesson.
Continuing through the Winter/Spring session (Jan- May) provides two additional opportunities: Students could be invited to participate in our Royal Academy of Dance Class Awards mid-spring, and the guaranteed ability to perform in our Annual Spring Recital in May. Class Awards and Recital participation will require additional fees.
Academy Ballet does not guarantee make-up classes for weather-related closures.
Dress Code: Girls: Royal Academy of Dance Freya leotard in Marine Blue, leather full sole ballet shoes and pink ballet socks. Boys: White t-shirt, navy or black shorts, white or black socks and white or black full sole leather ballet shoes. Girl’s Leotards and socks available through our studio (academydancesupplies.square.site), and all other items available at Dance Supplies, Etc in Severna Park (410- 647-8727).
