Introducing the beginnings of THT Center for Learning's pathways to becoming a professional, Improviso means "all of a sudden," and in this class, youth will be trained in the art of creating something from nothing, all of a sudden. Yes, this includes the principles of physical and verbal improvisation, but it also works the muscles of collaboration, sharing a scene with a partner, and exploring the actor/audience relationship through performance. This class will minimize sets, costumes, make up, and lights, instead using only the important raw materials of creating an engaging performance.
This Season we offer Improviso: Monsters in the Shadows
You will work on scenes and speeches from Frankenstein, Macbeth and Beowolf to explore the suspense and terror of lurking monsters popping up all of a sudden.
This class is led by Lindsay Pontius and Keziah Wilde.
Tuition: $325
Ages: 9-13
Full and partial scholarships are available.
