In this course, students will develop a more nuanced sense of their own body’s capacity for movement. In the first half of the course, you will learn to get to know your body as an instrument of expression, to release tension, warm-up with physical awareness and use movement to embody feelings, ideas and characterization.
The second half of the course will focus on preparing the mind and body for dance in theater productions such as musicals. We will work on moving quickly, dancing with grace and confidence, and honing one's ability to learn specific set dance vocabulary and combinations.
This class will be great for actors looking to expand their ability to move and dance.
This course is taught by Evelyne Germain.
