Over the course of these 9 weeks, the team will write, direct, and perform a complete sketch comedy show.
Similar in style to SNL’s sketch shows (and writing process), we will spend the first few weeks learning about sketch writing and getting comfortable with writing together in small groups. Ultimately, they will produce enough original material to put together into a show and the latter weeks of the class will be spent rehearsing the sketches.
Team members will get experience with every aspect of the process: pitching ideas, writing sketches, helping to figure out staging, directing, and performing. We hope that does not deter people who feel nervous about any step of the project; We will take plenty of time to provide new tools to help increas writing competency and comedic performing. Any level of experience with writing or acting is welcome!
This class will be taught by Keziah Wilde, with help from members of Middlebury College’s sketch comedy club.
Tuition: $275
Ages: 13-18 (exceptions might be made for nearly 13 year olds)
Full and partial scholarships are also available. Enroll |
