Crisp Bubbles. Whites requiring meditation. Hidden gem, unheard of grapes. Orange wine, and its rebirth. Red wines, both familiar and rare. Friuli has it all. This tiny little corner of Italy, just a stone's throw from Venice, will shock you with its diversity in styles of wine. Tre Gerbitz talks through five iconic - and staggeringly differing - bottles, and tells each of their stories. In a wine world where flavor can become repetitive and predictable, Friuli is refreshing.

Sake is the liquid expression of love, time, and attention. Sommelier Shelley Sale guides you through the four types of sake, revealing the magic of this beautiful and complex beverage that dates back to the 8th century. Sake’s four key ingredients are rice, koji, iron-free water, and love, and the fermentation process is a months-long meditation in “home.” Sake masters leave their families in October and sleep at the brewery, only returning to their daily life in the spring when the sake is finished. The resulting drink is imbued with intention, tradition, and mastery. Enjoy your sake with pairings from Izakaya Cabin.

These vines have been tended with loving care over the generations by Italian immigrant families who built their homes and planted their vineyards in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The grape varietals they chose to plant in these rocky soils are uniquely suited to the area, and survive to make historic wines to this day.

Postmodern Jukebox

Saturday, October 29th, 2022

8 pm

Steddy Theater

When New York City pianist Scott Bradlee created Postmodern Jukebox out of a basement in Queens in 2011, his goal was simple: to remake the pop hits of today into the classic sounds of the legends of yesterday. Miley Cyrus became The Platters. Bruno Mars became Frank Sinatra. The Spice Girls became The Andrews Sisters. Guns ’n’ Roses became Bessie Smith.

Now, nearly a decade later, Postmodern Jukebox has grown to become a pop culture mainstay in its own right, having played over a thousand shows on six continents worldwide — including acclaimed venues like Radio City Music Hall, Sydney Opera House, and Red Rocks Amphitheater. In the process, PMJ has introduced audience to many of the world’s greatest singers, dancers, and instrumentalist — many of whom have gone on to become stars in their own right.

One part celebration of vintage music and culture, one part “’Saturday Night Live’ for singers”, a Postmodern Jukebox show is an unforgettable trip back in time that makes Pop Music History — in your own hometown.
