Featuring Craig Wayne Boyd — The Honky Tonk Experience
In celebration of the Midwest Theater’s 80th Anniversary, we’re bringing the Honky Tonk Experience to the Midwest stage—music rooted in the 1940s, the very era when the Midwest Theater first opened its doors. Join us for an unforgettable evening that bridges the theater’s rich past with the electrifying sound of modern country.
America fell in love with Craig Wayne Boyd from their living rooms as they watched him rise to victory on Season 7 of The Voice under the guidance of Blake Shelton. His performances became instant classics, including:
- A soulful, haunting rendition of “Walk the Line” by Johnny Cash
- A high‑energy duet of “Boots On” with Blake Shelton
- A moving, unforgettable performance of “The Old Rugged Cross”
Craig’s debut single, “My Baby’s Got a Smile on Her Face,” entered the Billboard charts at #1, tying a record held only by Garth Brooks—and later matched by Morgan Wallen.
Friday, May 8, 2026 at 7:00 p.m.
Expect a night filled with:
- Classic honky‑tonk energy
- Soulful ballads
- Foot‑stomping country favorites
- A celebration of the Midwest Theater’s 80‑year history
