In 2010, the City of Chatfield made a decision to embrace forward thinking and put arts, culture and historical preservation at the heart of community vibrancy as construction on a new elementary school began. The school district donated the old school, built in 1916, along with the 1936 Potter Auditorium to the city.
Through a courageous public/private partnership, the facility is now having an ever-growing cultural and economic impact on the region as the Chatfield Center for the Arts. The building is leased and operated by the community non-profit group Chatfield Center for the Arts, Inc.
We rely on the generous philanthropy of our neighbors to raise 32% of our operating budget through individual donors and corporate sponsors. Join us in weaving a resilient tapestry of vibrant economic growth and a rich quality of life in southeastern Minnesota.
