When 38 planes are unexpectedly diverted to the tiny town of Gander, Newfoundland, nearly 7,000 passengers find themselves stranded thousands of miles from home. With their lives suddenly on hold, the travelers face uncertainty, fear, culture shock, and the challenge of living alongside strangers from around the world.

Meanwhile, the people of Gander respond by opening their homes, schools, kitchens, and hearts to their unexpected guests.
