Deep within the Tombigbee swamp lives a fatherless boy named Wiley, his faithful dog, his conjure-woman mother – and the villainous Hairy Man, who lurks in the dark shadows to haunt the boy’s days and dreams. In a thrilling duel of wits, Wiley must confront his worst fears and reach deep into his own bag of tricks. There’s mystery in the mud, rhythm and rhyme in the air, and magic everywhere in this spine-tingling Southern folktale, performed by a youth cast ages 11-17.

It’s 1959 Louisiana. The Bayou is the found home to a misfit community of runaways, led by a legendary boy who refuses to grow up and another with a broken hand who refuses to forget. There is also a girl searching for an adventure, but longing to someday be a mother. Cypress nymphs and bog maidens, warriors and marauders…the swamplands are a Neverland of lessons and adventure in this vivid reimagining of the story of Peter Pan and Wendy Darling and the adults who want to bring them home.
