Asian Student Art Show - voices and talents in a one night only production!

A mirage is an optical phenomenon that creates the illusion of the existence of water in a very dehydrated state. The water part of our theme in this show represents the unattainable desire of the “american dream”. How many of our ancestors immigrated for the expectation of a better life, ultimately how being hit with the harsh realities of differences in cultures has affected us. Mirage 2025 explores themes of family: how we reflect, grow, and adapt to the western culture around us while staying resilient in our own culture, much like how water adapts to its given container. Water is an important symbol in Asian culture, representing purity, transformation, healing, balance of good and bad, and a necessity of life, as well as the significance of it being one of the main forms of transportation in immigration.
