Fanfares & Flourishes

Sound the trumpet! Our festive and light-hearted program includes Handel’s Suite in D for trumpet and strings, Telemann’s fanciful Don Quixote, virtuoso concertos for trumpet and violin, and a newly composed fanfare by Frank Nowell. For a grand finale, oboes, bassoon, and horns enliven our performance of this buoyant
and beloved music! Brandenburg Concertos 1, 3, and 6; plus a vivacious, rarely performed Sinfonia Concertante by French-Caribbean composer, Joseph Bologne. Host and Commentary: Kabin Thomas, classical radio host. Featuring soloists: Cynthia Miller Freivogel, Leader, violin; Martin Davids, violin; Vijay Chalasani viola; Lara Turner, cello.
