Maria Wirries

Maria started giving concerts here at GPAC when she was just 13 years old. Her voice teacher was The Glenridge’s Musical Director Alan Corey. Since then she has graduated with honors with a degree in Musical Theatre from Penn State. Maria was most recently seen in the Off-Broadway revival of “Kinky Boots” and the Broadway and touring productions of “Dear Evan Hansen.” She was recently accepted into the prestigious Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop. She is happy to return to our stage for a night of entertaining music.

Harry Allen, Jeff Rupert &the Flying Horse Big Band

The University of Central Florida’s Flying Horse Big Band has just released their eighth album on Flying Horse Records entitled, Big Man On Campus. Directed by saxophonist, composer and arranger Jeff Rupert, the big band welcomes tenor saxophonist and composer Harry Allen. Allen penned several originals and arrangements. The Flying Horse Big Band is a well-oiled machine that features an abundance of brilliant soloists: saxophonists Saul Dautch, Andy Garcia and Gabe Wallace, guitarist Ryan Waszmer, trumpet players Alex Lewis and Josh Toler, pianist Mudel Honoré and upcoming trombonists Christian Herrera and Lentzy Jean-Louis create a swinging sound that goes beyond nostalgia into an updated sound boundless with well-conceived ideas.

Diego Figueiredo

Diego Figueiredo is a new star of the guitar world. He is only 37, and he has released 23 CDs, 3 DVDs, and he has played in more than 60 contries around the world. He is the winner of several important competitions including The Montreux Jazz Competition, and the VISA Prize. His concerts are a fusion between Jazz, Bossa Nova and Classical music. Diego has a unique interpretation, with tremendous techniques, enormous emotion, and his shows have been a great success to all audiences. Diego Figueiredo was born in Franca, Brazil, in 1980, and at the age of 4, he used to strike poses carrying his small guitar. At six, he got a mandolin, which was kept in a very special place in his house. Diego played many instruments before choosing the electric guitar when he was twelve, playing in theaters and local pubs, revealing the great art of improvising and harmonizing. At 15, he conquered theaters and nightclubs in many different Brazilian states, playing solo or with renowned musicians.

The Four Freshmen

The Four Freshmen are one of America's most enduring vocal groups, who, since their inception in 1948, have been bringing a jazz sensibility to the classic American songbook in their own special way. With a sound centered around a tight 4-part vocal blend, like barbershop but jazzier, the Four Freshmen deliver a Fresh take on every tune they call, from dreamy, crooner-style ballads to swingin', up-tempo arrangements that make a quartet feel like a big band.

Strings Con Brio

Strings Con Brio (Strings With Vigor), a chamber sized string orchestra, performs repertoire from masterpieces of the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods, plus contemporary concert music and well-loved classics from Broadway theatre and cinema. The concert will include music of Handel and Vivaldi, which will transport you back to 18th Century Italy. Patrons will hear the familiar melodies of Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik and two of Schubert's best known melodies. The program will conclude with a medley of familiar songs from Rodgers and Hammerstein's The King and I, the haunting theme from Schindler's List, music by Andrew Lloyd Webber from his long running musical theatre masterpiece The Phantom of the Opera, and a rousing fiddle tune which will have the audience whistling as they leave.

ROBIN SPIELBERG is one of America's most beloved pianist/composers. Tony DeSare performs with infectious joy, wry playfulness and robust musicality. Named a Rising Star Male Vocalist in Downbeat magazine, DeSare has lived up to this distinction by winning critical and popular acclaim for his concert performances throughout North America and abroad. From jazz clubs to Carnegie Hall to Las Vegas headlining with Don Rickles and major symphony orchestras, DeSare has brought his fresh take on old school class around the globe. DeSare has four top ten Billboard jazz albums under his belt and has been featured on the CBS Early Show, NPR, A Prairie Home Companion and the Today Show. DeSare has also collaborated with Youtube icons Postmodern Jukebox. DeSare's Lush Life recording, debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Traditional Jazz Chart and he released Song Diaries Vol. 2 in early 2022, now streaming on all platforms. Notwithstanding his critically acclaimed turns as a singer/pianist, DeSare is also an accomplished award-winning composer.
