Adult siblings Vanya and Sonia reside in the family’s old farm house in Pennsylvania, where they cared for their aging parents and mourned their lost dreams and missed opportunities. When their often-wrong, fortune-telling maid warns of impending dangers, their movie star sister, Masha, arrives unexpectedly with young, boy-toy Spike.
