Synopsis: It is the mid-1950s and Gillian Holyroyd is a beautiful young witch who finds her neighbor, book publisher, Shepherd Henderson, quite attractive. This attraction becomes more interesting to Gillian when she learns that Shepherd is engaged to a woman she knew and despised in college. That is all Gillian needs to shift into high gear to break up the engagement and exact her revenge for past wrongs. Using her cat, Pyewacket, to cast a love spell on Shep, he becomes immediately enamored with Gillian. A short time later, he proposes marriage. Gillian finds herself actually falling for Shepherd, which poses a problem: she will lose her powers if she falls in love.
