Join WMP for delightful musical treats during the holiday season. Soprano Elizabeth Kluegel opens the concert with Holiday Selections from the Great American Song Book. The orchestra performs Vaughan Williams rich and moving Greensleeves, featuring Lynn Ann Zimmerman-Bell, flute, and Heidi Sturniolo, harp. WMP’s principal violinist Tim Kidder solos in Lukas Foss’s melodious and virtuosic Three American Pieces, orchestrated by Foss for Itzhak Perlman. WMP’s principal Tubist Karl Hovey explores Richard Strauss’ romantic Horn Concerto, playing it on the tuba. Finally, discover how Stravinsky evokes the world of commedia dell’arte clowns in Pulcinella.
