Signs of the Season, a Christmas Concert by Dalton Chamber Choir

Thursday, December 12th at 7:30pm

St. Mark's Episcopal Church Parrish Hall

The choir is a volunteer choir that is a descendant of Chorus Peregrinus (translated “Wandering Choir”), which was formed in 1993 by Bert Landman, a local organist/pianist, composer, vocal coach and choirmaster. The choir became under the direction of Camilla Springfield in 2005, following the retirement of Mr. Landman. Adam Burnette became conductor from 2015 to this year, and the baton has now returned to Ms. Springfield. During the years under Mr. Burnette, the repertoire was expanded to include secular pieces, larger choral works and a “choral” opera. Since the repertoire was no longer exclusively sacred, the choir’s name was changed to the Dalton Chamber Choir.
This concert is a compilation of sacred and secular choral works, designed to highlight aspects (or Signs) of the sacred Christmas story…the star, the angels and shepherds, the Holy Child in the manger, and the rejoicing over the Holy Birth and the season in which we celebrate it.
