PRESENTED AT CHENEY HALL
White Rabbit Theatre's 5th Musical: The Producers
April 17, 18, 23, 24, 25 @ 7:30 p.m. April 19, 26 @ 2:00 p.m.
This is Mel Brooks' most famous musical, based closely on the 1967 Zero Mostel/Gene Wilder film and the 2005 Nathan Lane/Matthew Broderick film. This uproarious comedy takes you into the world of Broadway producer Max Bialystock, who is down-on-his-luck and hungry for a get-rich-quick scheme. Mousy, anxiety-prone accountant Leo Bloom indirectly provides the idea to produce the greatest Broadway flop in history in order to avoid paying back investors. Thus, for the first time ever, a producing duo attempts the unimaginable: create a show that is TRULY awful.
Along the way, they will encounter a cast of whimsical and ridiculous characters: Roger, an ego-bloated director, Carmen, his fabulously gay sidekick, Ulla, a Swedish knockout with the Triple Threat: (she can sing, act, AND dance), and Franz, a deluded Hitler worshipper.
White Rabbit Theatre's 5th show promises to be something spectacular, as it will feature the talents of director Michael King, the choreography of Chantel Martin, the music direction of Kelly Sharp, the stage management of Michael Dougherty, and the costumes of Brendon Rogers. The cast (as seen below) is ready to provide you with a spectacle of entertainment that you won't soon forget!
