FORGING THE WEST: A CULTURAL FILM CO-PRESENTED BY THE CRESTED BUTTE MOUNTAIN HERITAGE MUSEUM AND THE CENTER FOR THE ARTS

Join us for a very special screening of Forging the West, a film exploring the role of the Colorado Fuel and Iron Company (CF&I) in the industrialization of the west and in the history of Colorado. Forging the West, a HaveyPro Cinema production in association with Historic Pueblo, Inc.

From the utopian vision of steel mill founder William Jackson Palmer to the turbulence of 19th and 20th century labor relations and the impacts of company policies on a workforce that once included one in ten Coloradans, the one-hour film brings the epic events and enormous scale of an essential western industry to life. Forging the West tells the story of the steel mill that fueled the development of the American West — its railroads, structures, politics, ethnic diversity and, to a large degree, its character.  The film was the recipient of a 2017 Telly Award for excellence in historical documentary filmmaking.

Doors open at 5:30pm and the film will start at 6pm.
