"Crafting Character” workshop with Shelley Read

Friday, May 28, 2021

1 - 2:30 pm $30 or included in festival pass

Setting and plot anchor a narrative, but it’s often characters that make a story come alive. Or as Stephen King says, “The best stories always end up being about the people rather than the events.” How can we craft characters that capture complex human emotion and experience? Which characters remain in readers’ hearts and minds long after the story has ended, and why? This interactive workshop focuses on methods and techniques of developing compelling and unforgettable characters in all forms of fiction writing.
