Sunday, May 30, 12:15 - 1:15 pm
At the Center
Investigative journalist and New York Times best selling author will discuss his ten year journey studying the Wim Hof Method and the ways to use the natural stresses of the environment to help take control of the autonomic nervous system. The Wedge explores the space between the pre-programed stimulus from the outside world and the human ability to intervene and alter our physiological responses. Carney's research has taken him to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro at a record-setting pace (and with minimal clothing), into the jungles of Peru, neuroscience laboratories and Latvian saunas--each offering him insight into the evolutionary powers of the human body. Discussion in the Steddy Theater with food available from Sherpa Cafe.
