Inspired by a trip to Rio in 2016, Malandrino plays the relentlessly driving sambas of Ary Barroso and Luiz Bonfá, the aloof and breezy bossa nova of Tom Jobim and João Gilberto, and rounds it all out with hard charging Latin jazz standards from Chick Corea, Sonny Rollins, and Horace Silver.
