KOKORO DANCE PRESENTS THE WORLD PREMIERE OF WABI-SABI

Kokoro Dance - Vancouver BC - presents the world premiere of WABI-SABI. Performances take place at 8pm, September 22-25, and September 29 - October 2, 2021, at the Roundhouse Performance Centre.

“Kokoro Dance’s butoh expression gives recurring attention to the seven aesthetic principles of Zen philosophy: kanso — simplicity; fukinsei — asymmetry or irregularity; shibumi — beauty in the understated; shizen — naturalness without pretense; yugen — subtle grace; datsuzoku — freeness; and seijaku — tranquility. These terms are encompassed in a world view that the Japanese call wabi-sabi — the acceptance of transience and imperfection.”

COVID-19

Please note in accordance with the Provincial Health Order, masks are mandatory at the Roundhouse Performance Centre.

People aged 12+ are required to show proof of vaccination such as a BC Vaccine Card or BC Immunization Record (accepted until September 26). Everyone aged 19+ must show a government-issued photo ID with their proof of vaccination.

$25 - $30, (Wednesday 22nd + 29th, 2-for-1 Ticket Price, Buy any two tickets and you will only be charged for one $30.00 Adult ticket.)

SEATING

Please note seats have been put on hold to follow Roundhouse Performance Centre’s social distancing seating plan.
