French oceanographer, adventurer, filmmaker, inventor, author, and marine conservation pioneer Jacques-Yves Cousteau and his explorations became synonymous with a love of science and the natural world. He sounded alarms more than 50 years ago about the warming seas and our planet’s vulnerability. In this new film, Oscar-nominated filmmaker Liz Garbus takes a look at Cousteau’s life, iconic films and inventions, and the experiences that made him one of the most renowned environmentalists.
