"To the Hands (cantata), "Gustave Le Grey," "Valencia," and "Manus Tua"
World premiere of new Caroline Shaw piece!
Guest artists The Delgani String Quartet, cellist Valdine Mishkin, and The Salem String Quartet

Our second concert brings Pulitzer Award winning composer Caroline Shaw to our campus for a small residency starting January 31, with the concluding concert on February 2, 2022.

We are both fortunate and proud to announce that in collaboration with New Music at Willamette, we will present a world premiere by the composer, commissioned for our Zeller Chair in Dramatic Vocal Arts, Katherine Skovira. The program surrounding the world premiere will involve many musicians: students, faculty, artist associates, and guest artists, from solo unaccompanied works to string quartet and Willamette choirs.

Additional details about the residency will be forthcoming. The opportunity for one of the world's great composers to work with our students, in addition to composing for our faculty and community, is reason to celebrate.
