Tyler GirouxTrombone

Tyler Giroux is a valve trombone  and piano player in Upstate New York.  He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam and a Master’s Degree in Jazz Performance from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami.  He has performed and studied with many notable musicians, including John Daversa, Alan Ferber, Mitch Frohman, Dante Luciani, Brian Lynch, Scott Robinson, Tony Succar, and Bret Zvacek.  He finished 1st place in the 2014 International Tuba Euphonium Conference Rich Matteson Jazz Competition, and has performed at numerous festivals, including the Monterey Jazz Festival and Albany Riverfront Jazz Festival.  He recently performed with jazz artist and vocalist Sheila Jordan as part of the Quebec Jazz Festival.

Currently, Tyler performs regularly around New York State’s Capital Region.  He performs with his own groups, as well as the Giroux Brothers, Alex Torres and His Latin Orchestra, GNP, the Dylan Perrillo Orchestra, Bryan Brundige and the Piggly Wigglies, Mike Jenkins and the Fat Ties, and several other local musicians.

In addition to his performing career, Tyler is an avid music educator.  He is an experienced private instructor and clinician, topics including trombone, euphonium, piano, jazz theory, and improvisation.

Matt Niedbalski, Drums

Matt Niedbalski is a drummer known for bringing musicality and energy to the bandstand. Born and raised in New York’s Capital District, Matt was exposed to music at a very early age. While in high school he took private drum lessons with drummer/author Ted Mackenzie and participated in the Empire State Youth Orchestra as well as the Skidmore Summer Jazz Institute. Before graduating high school Matt played with many local musicians, performing at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, the Final Stretch Music Festival and the Lake George Jazz Festival where he opened for Rudresh Manthappa and Bunky Green.          

Robert Lindquist, Keys

Robert Lindquist was born and raised in Albany, New York. He has played piano since he was seven and started composing and improvising shortly thereafter. He attended SCCC and SUNY Potsdam for Music Education/Performance and obtained a Masters in Jazz Studies at The College of St. Rose.


He is trained in both classical and jazz piano. His teachers have included Dan Dobek (Classical/Jazz), Mark Evans (Classical, SCCC), Eugenia Tsarov (Classical, Crane School of Music), Lee Shaw (Jazz Piano, College of St. Rose) and Brett Zvacek (Jazz Studies, Crane School of Music).


Rob has appeared in performance with Kenwood Dennard(drums), Othello Molineaux(steel drums), Walter White (tpt), Chuck D'Aloia(guitar), Jeff Seigel(drums), Dave Calarco(drums), John Menegon(bass), !Scott Wendholt(trumpet), Harry Allen(t.sax), Dick Oatts(a.sax) and Brett Zvacek(trombone).
