It’s February 1949. Southern Ontario has just suffered one of the worst snowstorms in history and Port Perry has been cut off from the rest of the world… but not for long! The major broadcast towers that relay signals to the rural areas within 100 miles of Toronto have been severely damaged and the good townsfolk of Scugog have now endured 2 weeks without their favorite radio programs. Everyone is starting to feel a little….cooped up!
Thankfully, the Port Perry Town Hall Players have managed to secure three transcripts of recent popular radio shows and, working within a shoestring budget, the theatre company decides to put on the shows in front of a live “studio” audience. Reaching out through the airwaves, the people of Scugog will re-connect with the frozen world around them bringing a dose of warmth and good humour to their neighbours the best way they know how.
