After a year of digital and film work during the Covid pandemic, The Academy is opening
its first live play in 18 months.

On December 10, Noel Coward’s hilarious farce BLITHE SPIRIT will be performed live in the Academy’s Studio Theatre. In Blithe Spirit, one of Coward's biggest successes, novelist Charles Condomine, living with his second wife, Ruth, invites a local medium of uncertain talent, Madame Arcati, to his house. His intention is to do some research into the spirit world for his new book. But he gets more than he bargained for when Arcati conjures up the spirit of Charles's first wife, Elvira. Caught between one live wife and one dead wife —both jealous of the other — Charles thinks matters couldn't get worse.

But they do.
