Brahms, Ein deutsches Requiem

Don’t miss Maestro Shafer’s final concert as Artistic Director of the City Choir of Washington, as he conducts what Brahms called his “human” Requiem, in the grandeur of Washington National Cathedral.

Also on the program:  Shafer, A Prayer for Ukraine and Elgar, Nimrod.

The City Choir of Washington will be joined by Choralis; a full orchestra; and soloists Katelyn Aungst, soprano and James Shaffran, baritone.

This concert is dedicated to the people of Ukraine: In memory of the victims of the war in Ukraine, and for those who mourn.  Her Excellency Oksana Markarova, Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States, is the honorary patron of this concert.

Proof of vaccination and masks required.

Reception to follow the concert at the Cafritz Refectory of the St Albans School, adjacent to Washington National Cathedral, $40 per person.
