MountainTop Masterworks II: Four Seasons Four Ways & A Summery Beethoven Symphony!
Saturday, July 16 at 7:30 pm
Wintergreen Festival Orchestra; Andrew Grams, conductor
Wintergreen Resort is a “four seasons resort”, and this is a “four season concert”! Experience the spring, summer, fall, and winter in the most unique way. Instead of the typical performance of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, you’ll hear how each season changes with different interpretations by four different composers, and, of course, four different soloists! Composers Astor Piazzola, Max Richter, Philip Glass, and Antonio Vivaldi each make their mark on the first half of the concert. Then, enjoy Beethoven’s sunny second symphony, which he fittingly composed during the summer of 1801.
New this year: Enjoy MountainTop Masterworks performances two ways! Come Saturday night for an illuminative digital enhancement exclusive to the Saturday concert experience (and perfect for the evening backdrop!). On Sunday, conductors add color and perspective to your concert experience beginning with a pre-concert talk beginning at 2:00 pm.
