USD Opera presents Handel’s Alcina

Handel’s masterpiece, Alcina, centers on a malicious sorceress who uses her magic to make men fall in love with her, and turns them into wild animals when she tires of them. Alcina has captured the knight Ruggiero, whose fiancée, Bradamante, embarks on a rescue mission to save her love, setting the stage for a climactic showdown. Will Alcina’s spell finally be broken? Come and enjoy this comedy-drama in English with supertitles, presented by USD’s award-winning Opera program, accompanied by the USD Opera Orchestra, and directed by USD’s award-winning Dr. Tracelyn Gesteland.
