The Giver

Jonas' world is perfect. Everything is under control and safe. There is no war or fear or pain. There are also no choices. Every person is assigned a role in the community. But when Jonas turns 12, he is chosen for special training from The Giver—to receive and keep the memories of the community. The Giver is the only person who holds the memories of real pain and real joy. Now Jonas will learn the truth about life—and the hypocrisy of his utopian world. Through this astonishing and moving adaptation, discover what it means to grow up, to grow wise, and to take control of your own destiny. Directed by Abigail Phillips and presented by Wiregrass Drama Club’s Summer Intensive.

Lobby doors open 60 minutes before curtain. Seating begins 30 minutes before curtain.

Refunds Policy

By purchasing tickets or enrolling in classes with Southeast Alabama Community Theatre, you are making a nonrefundable reservation. If you are unable to attend, you may transfer tickets to another party by contacting the box office with the change at least 48 hours in advance of the performance. All sales are final. In the event your performance is cancelled, a refund for tickets may be issued at the option of the management. This refund may not include additional ticketing fees.
