Secrets and social ambitions, matchmaking relatives and meddling clergy, young love and old money are at play during Beatrice Wembley’s lavish garden party. This comedy of manners set in New York City’s Gilded Age follows party guests in confidential conversations, while some seek to challenge the strict social order, and others are determined to protect it.
