The musical is a Saratoga premiere of a new, award-winning adaptation of the classic fairy tale; the story of a young woman forced into a life of servitude by her cruel stepmother, who dreams of a better life. With the help of her Fairy Godmother, she is transformed into an elegant young lady and is able to attend the Royal Ball to meet her Prince. Julie Andrews starred in the original version in the 1957 TV broadcast.
