Thelonious Sphere Monk was one of America’s most important jazz pianists and composers. He is one of five jazz musicians to have been featured on the cover of Time Magazine and is the second-most-recorded jazz composer after Duke Ellington. For this concert, pianist Zach Bartholomew is bringing in award-winning saxophonist Mark Small (former saxophonist/arranger for Michael Buble) to join his trio in showcasing Monk’s unique compositions. Audiences can expect an evening of rhythmic, dynamic, and energetic jazz you can’t find anywhere outside of New York City!

This show features world-renowned trumpeter Benny Benack III from NYC, Grammy & Latin Grammy award winning saxophonist David Fernandez, University of Miami’s professor of Contemporary Bass Marty Quinn, and Costa Rican master drummer and Director of Jazz Studies at California State University, Fullerton Rodolfo Zuniga!
