Grace Brethren Junior/Senior High is very proud to present their first ever revival production this fall, bringing back Our Town to the stage for the first time since 2012. A timeless staple of the American theater, Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize winning masterpiece is a story of family, love, loss, and hope.
Following the citizens of the fictional town of Grover’s Corners at the turn of the twentieth century, the play looks at daily life of neighbors and friends in the first act, delves into the love story of two of its most precocious citizens in the second act, and examines what it means to be alive in the devastating third act. Working with minimal set pieces and no props, the actors convey life as it was lived then, speaking into the reality of how life is lived now.
In 2012, Our Town was the very first play ever directed by Mr. Carter, now in his eleventh year as the director of the GBHS Theatre Program. Revisiting this show for the first time since then, we invite our audience to see what made this show so special - the reminder that every moment is precious, and ordained to give glory to the Lord. Come join us in Grover’s Corners this fall!
