Bartow
By Greg Berman
STAGED READING
Directed by Danyelle Tinker
October 6th - 8th
Paralyzed after a major stroke, Oregonian and Contemporary artist, Rick Bartow and a young med student attempt their own form of therapy by entering Bartow’s art as expressions of prior traumas, lost Indigenous heritage, abstract animal paintings, sculptures, masks, and lost songs. This is a theatrical exploration of recovery adapted from Rick Bartow’s retrospective and accompanying book Things You Know But Cannot Explain.
The October 7th performance will include a post show discussion with playwright Greg Berman and Charles Froelick of the Froelick Gallery in Portland Oregon.
This production is sponsored in part by a grant from the Clatsop County Cultural Coalition.
