Legacies I: The Creative Continuum

We begin with a beautiful, meditative work by YCP alum Nathan Campbell and travel gradually back in time through the “sacred minimalism” of Ukranian composer Victoria Vita Poleva, the mysterious polystylism of Alfred Schnittke, the unusual chamber work by Gustav Mahler that inspired the Schnittke, the familiar warmth of Mahler’s mentor Johannes Brahms, finally arriving at a gem by Clara Schumann, a great inspirational figure in Brahm’s life.
