How can we sing the sun? fire? water? wind? space? earth?

The first concert in the Kansas City Women’s Chorus 2022-23 season takes us on a journey through the essential elements of life. Ten of the 13 pieces feature female composers, highlighted by a performance of She Rises by Catherine Dalton, who says she is “interested in exploring the physics of light and the mystery of illumination through the power of the human voice.”

The concert flows through water and air, then arcs with fire and reaches into the ether to explore the beauty and tumultuous power that is in and around us all. So many things are happening in our nation and world that affect women directly, and everyone indirectly. We will share music that inspires courageous tears … and enough rage to spark positivity and create change.
