The Activism of Robert Roberts Webinar

Thursday, January 19 @ 7 pm

While working on the Gore estate in Waltham, Robert Roberts completed his domestic manual, The House Servant’s Directory, one of the first commercially published works by a Black author in America. A leader in his community, Roberts’ life beyond his time at Gore Place and stories of his activism in the Free Black community in Boston are the subjects of this fascinating look at one of Boston’s lesser-known historical figures.

“This program is supported in part by a grant from the Waltham Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.”
