Fresh Perspectives II: A Trio of Trios
Wednesday, July 19 at 6:00 pm
Imagine “a piece that embodies the Wintergreen experience,” and look no further than the Horn Trio in E-flat Major by Johannes Brahms! In his trio for horn, piano, and violin, Brahms drew inspiration from his long walks in the Black Forest of Germany. Just as we experience at Wintergreen, his work combines the clarity that nature provides with the musical mastery of musicians, thereby creating one of the most iconic pieces of chamber music ever written. Paired with two more recent pieces – each iconic, vibrant, and descriptive in unique ways – don’t miss this musical journey through “a trio of trios”!
Featuring Festival Artists: Elisabeth Adkins, violin; Elizabeth Vonderheide, violin; Steve Larson, viola; David Bjella, cello; Dee Moses, bass; Eddie Newman, piano; Lance Suzuki, flute; Alexandra Knoll, oboe; Charles Messersmith, clarinet; Aaron Apaza, bassoon; Brandon Nichols, horn
