Winner of 12 Tony Awards, The Producers opened on Broadway in 2001 and ran for six years, starring Nathan Lane and Matthew Brodrick. Written by comedy legend Mel Brooks, the show tells the story of Max Bialystock, a has been Broadway impresario, and Leo Bloom, a nervous accountant who dreams of becoming a producer. Together they scheme to make money by creating a Broadway show that is sure to flop so they can bilk dozens of little old lady investors out of millions of dollars, leaving Bialystock and Bloom free to retire in Rio. But the plot goes awry when the show they choose, Springtime for Hitler, becomes a huge Broadway hit. With music and lyrics written by the incredible Mel Brooks and book and lyrics by Thomas Meehan, this hysterically funny show will leave you laughing out loud!
