Ten Tiny Dances® presents edgy new work as dancers face the challenge of performing on a stage that is 4 feet x 4 feet x 1.5 feet high. Director Mishele Mennett explains the “less is more” principle brings an intense focus to the contained dances. Originally created in Portland, Oregon, in 2002, by Mike Barber, Ten Tiny Dances® continues to be produced by Mr. Barber, and others, with permission. Ballet, modern, contact improv, tap, jazz, and traditional Hawaiian dancers (along with an OSU robot) will all express the theme – POETRY – through their individual dance forms. The companion Tiny Art Show, coordinated by AliceAnn Eberman, will sell miniature artwork before the show. We invite you to share in this community multi-art event, all to benefit the Majestic Theatre.
