Ken Ludwig’s Moon Over Buffalo centers on George and Charlotte Hay, fading, down-on-their-luck stars of the 1950s. But the great movie director Frank Capra is coming to town to see their matinee, and if he likes what he sees, he just might cast them in his movie remake of The Scarlet Pimpernel. Naked ambition takes over as George and Charlotte do everything in their power to make Capra love them, and the audience is treated to theatrical wackiness as the Hays struggle to survive.

This play marked the return, after a 30-year absence, of Carol Burnett to the Broadway stage, and is a delightful homage to classic back-stage farce.
